Around 110 short films on culture from different
countries, including India, US, UK, France, Germany,
Italy, Hungary, Ireland, Iran, Nepal and Pakistan, were
screened during the Second International Festival on
Short Films on Culture(IFFC-2008), which began here
yesterday.
Short films from 38 countries are participating for
awards in the three day event which was inaugurated at
the Jawahar Kala Kendra here by Cine personalities Hema
Malini and Jitendra.
Around 45 films were screened on the opening day
yesterday, while around 55 entries were exhibited during
two sessions today. Playing in Air (Sweden) was the
shortest film (1 min 33 sec) among the various films
screened today.

The best films in the festival would be awarded with
IFFC-2008 awards. There are four awards--IFFC
Iinternational Award: Open to all film-makers, IFFC
National Award: Open to all film-makers from India only,
IFFC Best Film on Religion: Open to all film-makers and
IFFC Student Award (For Students and trainee film
makers).
The Board of Jury comprises of Film Director Swapan
Malik, TV and Film Actress Rama Nij, Film Exporter
Hirachand Dand, Bollywood personality hammi Kapoor's son
Adityaraj Kapoor, Actor Sudheer Dalvi, Film maker
Sheetal Jain and Screen Magazine Chief Editor Rajendra
Ojha, for selection of best films. The award ceremony
would be held tomorrow evening.
